Trisha Yearwood’s induction into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame brought about a heartwarming reunion with a familiar face.

During the all-star Austin City Limits 9th Annual Hall of Fame Honors Trisha Yearwood special, set to broadcast on PBS Saturday, the country music icon shared a performance of “Walkaway Joe” alongside Eagles co-founder Don Henley.

In a preview clip released on YouTube, Yearwood expressed her gratitude, stating, “I can’t imagine being on this stage and being honored by Don Henley and not asking him if he would come up here and help me finish my portion of the show.”

As the rocker joined her onstage for a rendition of the hit 1992 track, Yearwood expressed her gratitude towards him, acknowledging his consistent support.

“I try not to impose too much on you because you always say yes, and I really appreciate that,” Yearwood remarked, prompting a broad smile from Henley.

The rocker was present to induct Yearwood into the prestigious hall of fame, which boasts esteemed musicians such as Sheryl Crow, B.B. King, and Loretta Lynn among its ranks. Other notable musicians in attendance at the event included Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Ronnie Dunn, and Jo Dee Messina.

Following the filming of the special in October 2023, Yearwood took to Instagram to express her gratitude, stating, “To say I had the time of my life in Austin is an understatement.”

She continued, reflecting on the honor of being recognized on such a revered stage: “I feel humbled to be honored on such a sacred stage. Live music has the power to transform lives, and what Austin City Limits has been doing for live music over the past 50 years is truly life-changing, not only for the artists and musicians but, most importantly, for everyone watching and listening.”

Yearwood also shared a heartfelt message directed to Henley, stating, “Don Henley, this honor will forever hold a special place in my heart because of your gracious induction into the @acltv Hall of Fame. Appreciate you, my friend!”

Additionally, it’s worth noting that “Walkaway Joe” included a cameo appearance by a young Matthew McConaughey in its music video when it was first released as a single in 1992.
