Gabby Barrett’s affection for Southern gentlemen takes the spotlight in her latest track, “Cowboy Back.”
Barrett co-wrote this potential hit with Jesse Frasure and Jon Nite. In this nostalgic song, the 23-year-old singer is clearly smitten with her cowboy. Throughout the tune, Barrett celebrates the admirable qualities of her partner, showcasing the revival of chivalry and the art of treating a woman with respect.
Barrett sets the scene in the opening verse, describing her man hard at work in his red boots, white T-shirt, and blue jeans. She croons, “I’m loving that view. You look so good working the land,” before quickly adding, “And that Ford of yours, well, they just don’t make ’em like that anymore.”
In the chorus, she exuberantly proclaims, “Let’s bring back those carhops, baby / Dust off those old Luccheses / Put on that black Stetson to shield us from the sun / You’re my partner in crime, my ride-or-die / You say ‘Yes, ma’am’ with that Southern charm / You stand up for what’s right / Thank God I’ve got a man like you / Just look at you, bringing the cowboy spirit back.”

In her personal life, Barrett is expecting her third child with her husband, Cade Foehner, with an anticipated arrival date in February 2024. The couple recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary, with Barrett expressing her gratitude and love for her husband on Instagram, saying, “Marriage teaches so much, and I’m thankful God gave me YOU to walk it out with. You are my favorite person and always will be.”
