Cody Johnson: “These Songs Are the Best I’ve Ever Recorded, and That’s How It Should Be”
Cowboy country singer Cody Johnson is boldly charging ahead in the world of country music with a pair of exciting announcements.
Last Friday, Johnson unveiled his intentions to drop “Leather,” marking his third studio album under COJO Music / Warner Music Nashville. This eagerly anticipated release follows his 2019 album, “Ain’t Nothin’ To It,” and the 2021 offering, “Human: The Double Album.” Fans can anticipate the arrival of “Leather” on November 3rd.
Cody Johnson expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This round of songs, I have to say, is the best round of songs I have ever recorded, and I feel like that’s the way it should be. Each album should outdo the last one.”
As a preview of “Leather,” Johnson has unveiled two new tracks: “Work Boots,” co-written by Jason Afable, Brett Beavers, and Canaan Smith, and “Watching My Old Flame Go Out,” penned by Kat Higgins, Wynn Varble, and Clint Daniels.
Furthermore, Cody Johnson has announced “The Leather Tour,” set to kick off on January 19th, 2024. This tour marks an exciting milestone as it includes Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, where Johnson will headline Music City’s largest indoor venue for the first time. Joining him during the tour’s initial leg will be special guests Justin Moore, Dillon Carmichael, and Chris Janson.
