A Tim McGraw concert turned into an unforgettable milestone for one couple.
The 58-year-old country icon helped a fan propose to his girlfriend onstage during his recent stop in Ohio, as seen in TikTok clips shared by the newly engaged pair.
The memorable moment unfolded during McGraw’s set at Y-Live, the annual music event in Youngstown, Ohio. On Saturday, Sept. 27, he performed at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre in Wean Park, a day after John Mayer headlined the same festival.
During the show, McGraw invited couple Selena and Trent to join him onstage. With microphone in hand, Trent knelt down to propose, drawing cheers from the audience. Selena said yes, and the two embraced as the crowd erupted in applause.
Videos from the night show the couple overcome with emotion — Trent grinning from ear to ear while Selena, visibly moved, wiped away tears before hugging her fiancé.
McGraw shared in the couple’s joy, giving them hugs and posing for a selfie onstage — a photo Trent later posted on TikTok. Both he and Selena paired their clips of the proposal with McGraw’s romantic ballad The Rest of Our Life, his duet with wife Faith Hill.
“Forever blessed with this man who pulled off the best proposal ever 🥹💙,” Selena captioned her TikTok, admitting she was “still speechless.”
The engagement ring itself carried special meaning. Trent revealed that Selena’s late mother, who passed away from cancer in April, had some of her ashes placed into a ring that Selena wore daily. Before the concert, Trent asked to hold onto the piece for “safekeeping,” then used it during his onstage proposal — a way, he said, of having her mother “help” him pop the question.
He added that Selena will eventually choose a wedding ring of her own, writing, “[Here’s] to forever….”
Concertgoers who witnessed the emotional proposal also flooded the couple’s videos with congratulatory comments. “I was there and loved seeing this!” one TikTok user wrote, while another added, “I was there last night and this was awesome! Congratulations to this beautiful couple.”
