Shania Twain is set to release a new single on Wednesday, May 13.

Shania Twain says her upcoming album is deeply personal and focused on reflection, particularly on her childhood and early life experiences.

Speaking at the Shania Twain Rose Ceremony in Los Angeles on May 10, the singer explained that the project revisits the environment she grew up in, using descriptive storytelling to help fans better understand her background before fame.

Twain said the album serves as a contrast to her 2023 release Queen of Me, which she described as centered on self-empowerment. The new project, she noted, is more about looking back and sharing parts of her life that fans have not yet heard about.

She reflected that most listeners were introduced to her after her breakthrough at age 30, meaning much of her earlier story remains unfamiliar to the public. The new music, she said, aims to fill in those gaps.

Now 60, Twain also said the album reflects a sense of peace and acceptance with her life journey. She shared that she feels “settled” and grateful, acknowledging past challenges while emphasizing that they have shaped who she is today.

She added that revisiting her past through music has been a positive experience, allowing her to express gratitude and acceptance for her personal growth.

The Rose Ceremony also marked the launch of the Shania Twain Rose, a hybrid tea rose tied to her foundation’s efforts to support food security initiatives.

While details of the album are still under wraps, Twain recently announced her new single “Dirty Rosie,” signaling the start of the project’s rollout.
