Shania Twain’s song “Any Man of Mine” was originally released in 1995.
Jennifer Lawrence recently showed off her singing skills in a big way.
On Tuesday, Jan. 20, during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, the 35-year-old actress was asked about her go-to karaoke song. Without hesitation, she replied, “‘Any Man of Mine,’ Shania Twain.”
Lawrence didn’t stop there — she launched into a dramatic rendition of the hit single after Poehler, 54, admitted she didn’t know the tune.
“And if I change my mind / A million times / I want to hear him say / Yeah, yeah, yeah / I like it that way / Any man of mine,” Lawrence belted into the microphone as Poehler cheered her on.
“Oh my God, you’re good,” Poehler exclaimed. “I know, really good,” Lawrence replied with a grin.
Shania Twain herself reacted to the performance in the comments section of an Instagram clip, writing, “The passion! The energy! The microphone grab!! 😂 Obsessed. Love ya Jennifer… and you Amy! ❤️”
Twain also shared her admiration on X, posting, “This is so perfect.”
The 60-year-old country-pop icon originally released Any Man of Mine in 1995 as the second single from her album The Woman in Me. In 2020, she celebrated the 25th anniversary of the album on social media, reflecting on its impact.
“I cannot believe it is 25 years since I released The Woman in Me. This is really the album that started it all off for me,” Twain said in a video on X. “It was my first certified diamond album, and 25 years later, I’m still enjoying singing these songs every night. The album means a great deal to me — it’s been a very personal journey, and I’m very grateful to this album.”
She added with a wink, “I actually should be doing something to celebrate — yeah.”
Most recently, Twain surprised fans at Austin City Limits in October when she joined Sabrina Carpenter on stage for a duet of That Don’t Impress Me Much. Twain shared photos of the performance on social media, commenting, “It’s like Loretta and Dolly except it’s SHANIA & SABRINA 💖,” referencing the famed friendship of Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn.
