“Throughout my journey, I’ve made an effort to remain authentic, and I plan to carry that same mindset into this next chapter,” Twain shared on Instagram.
Shania Twain is ringing in another milestone year.
On Thursday, August 28, the “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” hitmaker celebrated turning 60 by sharing a sentimental Instagram post. The update featured a vintage snapshot of her in a dressing room from the 1980s, paired with a recent photo of Twain dressed in a crisp white button-down shirt and black briefs.
“Happy birthday to me! Sixty already? I’m so glad I held on to some photos from the ’80s—back when I had no clue what was coming and ‘Shania Twain’ wasn’t even a thing yet 😂,” she wrote.
The singer went on to express her gratitude, saying she feels deeply thankful for her life, as well as the love and support she receives from her family, friends, and fans.
She wrapped up her message by sharing her outlook for the future: “I’ve worked hard to stay authentic over the years, and that’s exactly how I plan to approach this next chapter.”
Earlier this month, Shania Twain wrapped up her Live in Concert summer tour and marked the moment with a highlight reel of photos she shared on Instagram.
“I can’t believe the tour has already come to an end! Being on the road with you all has been an absolute blast. Every single night felt like a celebration, and each audience showed up with incredible energy—outfits, dance moves, and even vocals!” she captioned the post.
She continued by praising her fans: “You truly are the most fun, fabulous, kick-ass supporters anyone could dream of 🥹💖. Now it’s time to rest… just kidding, you know I love to stay busy 😜. I’m diving into new music, so stay tuned!”
Back in February, Twain spoke with PEOPLE about how meaningful it is to know she has influenced today’s biggest stars, including Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter, and Kelsea Ballerini.
“It’s humbling and rewarding,” she admitted. “Hearing how they describe their connection to my music and what it means to them is incredibly moving.”
She explained that she empathizes with their perspective because she once felt the same way about artists she admired early in her career. “When I was younger, there were musicians who had already achieved the things I dreamed about. I remember imagining what I’d say to them if I ever had the chance to meet them. So, I completely understand those emotions,” Twain said.
In 2023, the That Don’t Impress Me Much singer released her most recent studio album, Queen of Me. When announcing the record, she revealed the inspiration behind it on Instagram.
“Lately, I’ve been more at peace with myself than ever before—and this album reflects that musically. Life is too short not to embrace joy, boldness, and empowerment,” she shared. “Through these songs, I wanted to send a strong reminder, especially to women, to never lose sight of their own power.”
