Riley Green’s Steamy New Single “Change My Mind” Hints at Another Major Country Radio Hit

In his latest single, Green goes all in, offering candid, unapologetic lyrics about the tension of temptation and desire.

Riley Green has never been one to hold back in his music. His previous chart-topping single, “Worst Way,” didn’t shy away from addressing a steamy physical relationship, and his latest track, “Change My Mind,” similarly explores the tug-of-war of trying to walk away from someone who still pulls you in.

With lines like, “Girl, the second that you lose that dress / that’s the second that I second guess” and “Wreck my plans like you wrecked my bed,” Green delivers one of his most candid songs yet, proving once again that he’s willing to push lyrical boundaries when the story calls for it.

Green attributes his comfort with bold lyrics to experience—and the overwhelming fan response to “Worst Way,” which helped him understand where the line can be drawn.

“The lyrics that don’t make it into the songs are usually where we went too far. We’ll go there, then backtrack to a point where we think maybe someone won’t be offended. But ‘Worst Way’ was pretty direct, and it did really well, so we don’t shy away from that too much,” he explained.

Co-written with Erik Dylan and Randy Montana, “Change My Mind” officially hit country radio on Monday, January 5, as the latest single from his album Don’t Mind If I Do. The song became the most-added track at country radio that week, marking the largest first-week add of Green’s career with 97 stations playing it.

With 161 million global streams and counting, “Change My Mind” is shaping up to be another major hit for the singer.

“It’s always amazing when you have songs like this,” Green told Country Now. “Worst Way blew up, Don’t Mind If I Do did the same, and now Change My Mind is doing that too. It’s exciting to have a song that’s already found an audience getting its chance on country radio for those who haven’t heard it yet.”

The ACM and CMA Award-winning artist’s new single follows closely on the heels of his sixth No. 1 hit, “Don’t Mind If I Do” featuring Ella Langley, which recently topped the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, Mediabase Country Chart, and Canada Country Radio. This milestone also marked his second consecutive self-written No. 1, following “Worst Way,” making him the first country artist since Taylor Swift to achieve back-to-back solo-written No. 1s on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.
