“McEntire shared that she and her fellow artists feel ‘extremely proud’ of the track.”

Reba McEntire recently treated fans to a surprise gift: the release of a live performance video for “Trailblazer,” her powerhouse collaboration with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson.

The performance, filmed during McEntire’s sold-out headlining set at the first-ever Music City Rodeo earlier this summer, captured an unforgettable moment.

Introducing the track, McEntire told the crowd: “A couple of weeks ago at the ACM Awards, we got to premiere a brand-new song that we’re very, very proud of…I had the chance to perform it with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson.”

With a grin, she teased the audience: “Wouldn’t it be great if they were here tonight?” The arena erupted in cheers as Lambert and Wilson emerged from backstage. “Surprise, surprise, surprise,” McEntire laughed before the trio launched into the song together.

Their performance closed on a powerful note, with the three artists clasping hands in solidarity—a symbolic image of three generations of country music standing side by side, celebrating the women who came before them and the path they continue to forge.

Co-written by Lambert, Wilson, and Brandy Clark, and produced by McEntire alongside Tony Brown, “Trailblazer” serves as both a heartfelt tribute and a rallying anthem for the trailblazing women of country music who opened doors for future voices.

The collaboration was born out of an idea from Reba McEntire, who encouraged a meaningful discussion between Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Brandy Clark. The group reflected on the women of country music who not only broke barriers but also uplifted and mentored the next generation.

“Lainey shared with Country Now backstage at the ACM Awards: ‘So Reba had the idea to try a song together, and me, Miranda, and Brandy Clark just started talking about the history of country music—how the women have always stood by one another, blazing trails, cutting through the weeds, and doing whatever it took to help the next person climb up.’

Wilson also acknowledged that her own career owes much to the encouragement of McEntire and Lambert. ‘I owe it to them. I really do. They’ve both been so generous with their wisdom and support. That’s what it’s about—lifting others up. And this isn’t just a song for the music industry. It’s for anyone who feels they’re paving the way for others.’

The trio first performed “Trailblazer” during the ACM Awards, and the track was released to streaming platforms immediately after. In its debut week, it earned 2.6 million on-demand streams—marking a new career streaming record for McEntire.
