Morgan Wallen Opens Up About His Sudden Departure from Saturday Night Live: ‘I Just Wanted to Head Home’

By Website Content Manager

In March, the country singer stirred up backlash when he walked off the ‘SNL’ stage and casually passed by the camera.

In March, following his performance as the musical guest alongside host Mikey Madison, the country artist caused a stir when he abruptly left the ‘SNL’ stage at the end of the show. Now, Wallen is opening up about the incident during a recent appearance on Caleb Pressley’s Sundae Conversations.

During the interview, Wallen reflected on the moment after Pressley playfully asked if the “Last Night” singer still does chores like mowing his lawn or taking out the trash — tasks he admitted he doesn’t do anymore. Pressley then joked, “Could you fix a TV if you were on SNL?”

“I could definitely handle that,” Wallen replied when asked about fixing a TV.

Pressley then teased him further, asking, “Be honest, did SNL upset you?”

Wallen quickly clarified, “Not at all. I was just ready to head home. I’d been there the whole week.”

Following his appearance on SNL, the “I Had Some Help” singer posted an Instagram Story showing a private jet with the caption, “Get me to God’s country.”

When Pressley brought up the post during their chat, Wallen responded with a knowing smile and said, “Yeah.”

While on SNL, the Grammy-nominated artist delivered performances of “I’m the Problem” and “Just in Case,” both featured on his forthcoming album I’m the Problem, which drops May 16.

As the show wrapped up, host Mikey Madison, 26, thanked everyone involved in bringing the episode together, standing alongside Wallen. During the moment, Wallen appeared to lean in and whisper something to Madison before casually exiting the stage and passing directly in front of the camera.

Soon after, Wallen posted a photo of a private jet on Instagram with the caption, “Get me to God’s country,” and later capitalized on the viral moment by selling merchandise inspired by the phrase and the incident.
