Megan Moroney Treats Fans to ‘Cloud 9’ Listening Event at Raising Cane’s in Times Square

The pink-themed celebration served as an ideal launch for Moroney’s Cloud 9 album release.

The Times Square restaurant was transformed into a full-on Cloud 9 takeover, decked out in pink both inside and out with themed decorations throughout. Fans braved the rain to line up, received pink Cane’s hats to match the occasion, and some even traveled long distances—one fan drove 10 hours just to attend the celebration.

Once inside, attendees picked up copies of Moroney’s 15-track album, and she made a surprise appearance behind the counter, holding a Box Combo as Cloud 9 tracks played over the speakers. Moroney spent time with fans, taking selfies and signing items ranging from posters and vinyl records to the pink Cane’s hats. Known for her strong connection with fans, it was a fitting way for her to kick off release day.

The event also debuted the first in-restaurant Cloud 9 displays, which started rolling out Friday to over 900 Raising Cane’s locations nationwide.

This wasn’t Moroney’s first collaboration with Raising Cane’s. After teasing her new album in November, she made a surprise pop-up appearance at a Cane’s near her alma mater, the University of Georgia. Since then, she’s maintained a close relationship with the brand, its founder Todd Graves, and his daughter Sophia. Her signature pink aesthetic is now featured at Cane’s locations across the country.

During the event, Moroney also spoke with media members, sharing how meaningful her partnership with Cane’s has been.

“My favorite part of working with Cane’s is how natural it feels. My Twitter bio even used to say, ‘Can I please get a Box Combo with extra sauce and a Sprite,’” she said. “Partnering with Cane’s is easy. I love Todd, his story, his hard work, and his kind family. It’s fun, and I enjoy including Cane’s in all of this exciting stuff.”

Moroney co-wrote all 15 tracks on Cloud 9, delivering songs filled with vulnerability and authenticity. The album touches on love, heartbreak, and the challenges of everyday life, continuing the connection fans have felt with her previous hits like “Wish I Didn’t,” the GOLD-certified No. 1 country single “6 Months Later,” the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Beautiful Things,” and the title track.

Reflecting on the album, Moroney shared that her fans encouraged her to take a bolder approach this time. Instead of worrying about how her lyrics might be perceived, she wrote freely, with no constraints or compromises—fully embracing honesty and emotional depth.
