In footage shared on TikTok, Megan Moroney explained that “Wonder” holds a special place in her heart because it was inspired by her best friend Natalie. The country singer told guests that the very first song she ever released had actually been written for Natalie, making the wedding performance even more personal and emotional.

Megan Moroney gave her best friend Natalie King a heartfelt wedding gift by performing “Wonder,” the very first song she ever released, during King’s wedding to Alex Harp in Turks and Caicos on May 23.

Serving as the maid of honor, Moroney shared clips of the emotional performance on TikTok. Wearing a flowing yellow chiffon dress and an elegant updo, the singer told wedding guests that the song had originally been written years ago for King during a difficult dating period.

Moroney explained that the lyrics were inspired by her hope that her friend would eventually find someone dependable and loving — someone who would never leave her questioning his feelings. She said Alex Harp turned out to be exactly that person.

During the performance, Moroney noted that the meaning of the song had evolved over time. What was once a song about uncertainty had now become a joyful celebration of love and commitment.

To make the moment even more personal, she adjusted the lyrics live, singing, “He don’t make Nat wonder / She shouldn’t have to wonder,” instead of the original lines.

“Wonder” was first released in 2021 and marked the beginning of Moroney’s music career.

The singer also missed the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards despite receiving nine nominations, explaining on Instagram that she chose to prioritize her maid-of-honor duties and celebrate her best friend’s wedding abroad.
