Luke Combs Abruptly Withdraws from Madden Bowl Just a Day Before the Event

“My family comes before everything,” he said.
In an unexpected turn, Luke Combs has withdrawn from the EA SPORTS™ Madden Bowl, set for February 6 at San Francisco’s Chase Center, just a day before the event.
The country star, who was scheduled to headline the star-studded lineup, will be replaced by Zach Bryan, who will now take the top spot alongside Teddy Swims, Stephen Wilson Jr., Gavin Adcock, and LaRussell.
EA Sports confirmed the change, citing a personal reason for Combs’ absence: “Luke has to hold it down at home with a new one on the way. All love for Luke and his family.”
Combs addressed fans directly, emphasizing the importance of family in his life. “So sorry to miss y’all at Madden Bowl, but family always comes first. Have a great time.”
The singer and his wife, Nicole, are expecting their third child any day now. They revealed the news in September via Instagram, sharing a heartfelt post featuring their two sons, Tex Lawrence and Beau Lee, and noting the baby was due “this winter.” The couple has chosen to keep the baby’s gender a surprise, joking that they’d be happy with “any and all lil nuggets.”
A lifelong football fan, Combs had previously expressed excitement about performing at the event. “Panthers football has been a staple in my life since I was a kid, so playing Madden has always been something I do – even on tour,” he said. “Getting the invite from EA SPORTS to perform at the Madden Bowl during the biggest football game in the world – the Super Bowl – was a no-brainer. I can’t wait, and I’m still holding out hope my Panthers will be there too.”
The Madden Bowl, known for combining high-energy live performances with football excitement, will continue as planned despite the last-minute lineup change.
Fans can tune in starting at 7:00 PM PST via EA SPORTS’ social channels to catch A-list stars and athletes on the Blue Carpet, hosted by Jameis Winston and Kay Adams. Twitch streamer Sketch will livestream the arrivals, featuring athletes competing in a one-play Madden NFL 26 showdown, while the I AM ATHLETE podcast will provide additional on-site coverage and a closer look at the action.
