Luke Bryan is marking a major milestone as the country music star celebrates his 50th birthday.
Before reaching the big day, Bryan spoke with reporters backstage at CMA Fest after wrapping up the four-day event with a headlining performance at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium. While fans were eager to see his set, attention also turned to how he intended to celebrate the occasion.
Staying true to his playful personality, Bryan joked that the festivities would be anything but low-key.
“It’s going to be a massive celebration,” he said with a laugh.
Drawing inspiration from his latest track, “Fish Hunt Golf Drink,” the singer humorously described his ideal birthday plans. According to Bryan, the day would include fishing trips, rounds of golf, climbing trees, plenty of coffee, Advil, IV treatments, and Vitamin C. He even jokingly added skydiving and bungee jumping to the list before saying the celebration would be “a blowout.”
Whether those adventurous plans actually happen remains to be seen, but Bryan’s lighthearted comments once again showcased his signature sense of humor.
Bryan also couldn’t resist teasing longtime friend and fellow country artist Blake Shelton, who recently celebrated his own 50th birthday. Keeping their friendly rivalry alive, Bryan joked that he wears 50 “a lot better” than Shelton and playfully suggested his friend might not be receiving an invitation to the birthday festivities.
