Luke Bryan Shares Gratitude and Looks Ahead to Touring Again After Illness
After being sidelined by illness and forced to cancel or postpone several tour dates, country superstar Luke Bryan is on the road to recovery and gearing up for his return to the stage.
On Wednesday, Bryan took to social media with a sincere video message thanking fans for their ongoing support and understanding. He also gave a special shoutout to fellow country artist Eric Church, who stepped in to perform at multiple festival dates during Bryan’s absence.
“Hey everyone, hope you had a great 4th of July,” Bryan said in the video. “I just wanted to say thank you for all the kind messages after I had to miss some shows. Big thanks to my friend Eric Church for covering for me.”
The singer, who hails from Georgia, admitted that the cancellations were tough to deal with.
“It’s incredibly frustrating to get sick like that and lose your voice,” he said. “Having to sit out for a couple weekends really isn’t easy. But I’m grateful for all your support. Love you guys, and I can’t wait to be back out there performing.”
Eric Church filled in for Bryan at several major events, including Country Stampede in Bonner Springs, Kansas on June 26, NebraskaLand Days in North Platte, Nebraska on June 27, and Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 28.

Luke Bryan Opens Up About Vocal Struggles Ahead of Summer Tour Return
Luke Bryan recently addressed fans about the vocal issues that forced him to cancel several shows, expressing both his frustration and appreciation as he prepares to return to the stage.
The country hitmaker previously apologized for missing performances, explaining that his voice hadn’t fully recovered. Just days earlier, Bryan took the stage in Rogers, Arkansas, but later offered full refunds to attendees, feeling that his voice wasn’t strong enough to meet expectations.
“This is one of the strangest things I’ve ever experienced,” he told the Arkansas crowd. “For whatever reason, my voice just doesn’t hold up in this venue. It happens every time. Still, you all keep coming back, and that means a lot.”
Bryan referenced fellow artist Luke Combs as inspiration for his honest approach. “I saw Luke Combs do something similar when he was having a tough night onstage,” he said. “And I thought, ‘You know what? That’s the right way to handle it.’ So I’m not thinking twice — everyone’s getting a refund tonight, and we’re still going to put on a show.”
Despite recent setbacks, the five-time Entertainer of the Year is scheduled to resume his Country On Came On Tour on July 10 in Toronto, Ontario. The tour will continue with stops in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on July 11, and Hershey, Pennsylvania on July 12.
Bryan’s summer tour features a dynamic group of rotating openers, including George Birge, Avery Anna, Ashland Craft, Mae Estes, Cole Goodwin, Braxton Keith, Randall King, Vincent Mason, Drake Milligan, Adrien Nunez, and Owen Riegling, each joining him on select dates.
