The country star opened up about her upcoming wedding during an appearance on Apple Music Country’s The Kelleigh Bannen Show.
Lainey Wilson is opting for a traditional look when she ties the knot with Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
During her appearance on The Kelleigh Bannen Show on Apple Music Country on Thursday, March 20, the 32-year-old country star revealed her decision regarding her signature bell-bottoms.
“I’m going to wear a dress,” Wilson said. “I haven’t even gone dress shopping yet, and we haven’t set a date, so we’ve got some time. But I figured, you know what? I haven’t worn a dress for him yet, and I guess that would be the day to do it.”
Known for her iconic flared pants, Wilson has previously shared that she got her first pair of bell-bottoms as a child and returned to the style after moving to Nashville in 2011.
Reflecting on her fashion choice, Wilson told PEOPLE in 2024 that she realized early in her career that being a talented female singer-songwriter wasn’t enough — she needed something unique to help her stand out.
In her 2023 PEOPLE StyleWatch cover story, Wilson playfully remarked, “I’ll probably be 90 years old and still wearing bell-bottoms — I don’t think anybody’s ever seen my ankles!”
On The Kelleigh Bannen Show, Lainey Wilson also shared details about the engagement ring that her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, 28, designed especially for her.
“Years ago, I was just joking around and said, ‘Oh, check this out,’ and he was like, ‘Oh shoot,’” Wilson recalled. “I think he started saving about four years ago when we first started dating… But he went in and designed it himself. He combined a few of the rings I had shown him back then, and honestly, he outdid himself.”
Wilson and Hodges began dating in 2021 but kept their relationship private until two years later when the former NFL player joined Wilson at the ACM Awards in May 2023, marking their official red carpet debut. The couple announced their engagement in February 2025.
“He is a brave man,” Wilson joked during The Kelleigh Bannen Show. “First of all, anybody who’s okay with this lifestyle — being in the business so much and always on the go — he was plucked from the sky for me. Don’t tell him I said that… We got to keep him humble.”
