“Megan Moroney brings unmatched energy and joy to the stage,” Chesney says.

Kenny Chesney Delivers Another Surprise at the Sphere with Megan Moroney

Kenny Chesney promised surprises for his inaugural Las Vegas residency — and he’s certainly delivering. After previously sharing the stage with Kelsea Ballerini and Grace Potter during his opening shows, Chesney continued the momentum Wednesday night by bringing out Megan Moroney — a close friend, past tour companion, and now his latest duet collaborator.

Moroney made a memorable entrance at the high-tech Sphere in Las Vegas, sporting a sleeveless Chesney tee, denim cutoffs, and cowboy boots. She joined Billboard’s top country artist of the 21st century for a special four-song set that thrilled fans.

Together, the duo premiered their new duet, “You Had To Be There,” and teamed up on fan favorites like “All The Pretty Girls” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” Chesney also handed the spotlight to Moroney, giving her a moment to perform her rising hit, “Am I Okay?”, to a packed audience.

“Megan brings an energy to the stage that’s hard to match,” Chesney said after the show. “She’s not just having a great time up there — she makes everyone else want to have just as much fun. Honestly, even I’m inspired to keep up with that kind of joy. She lights it up.”

The night’s special guests included some big names offstage too, like NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, who was spotted enjoying the mid-week performance.

Chesney added, “For a Wednesday night, it had the energy of a full-on Saturday. Maybe it was Megan’s spark. Maybe we’ve finally hit our stride at the Sphere. Either way, it was one of those unforgettable nights with No Shoes Nation.”

Now part of a legendary lineup of performers — including U2, Dead & Company, the Eagles, and Phish — Chesney continues his run at the 17,600-capacity Sphere, a venue celebrated for its cutting-edge, immersive technology.

“I expected it to be amazing when I agreed to do this,” Chesney reflected. “But the reality has exceeded every expectation. The sound, the visuals — all of it is incredible. But what makes it most special is sharing it with people I care about, especially the fans who made the trip to Vegas to be part of this experience.”
