Kelsea Ballerini and Marshmello are bringing the energy with a fresh summer anthem made for carefree nights.
On Friday, June 26, the country singer and the electronic music producer officially released “Another Drink,” marking their first collaboration together. The upbeat track celebrates independence, confidence, and enjoying a night out without any worries.
In the chorus, Ballerini sings about a woman who is focused on having fun rather than romance, highlighting the carefree attitude behind the song’s message.
The second verse reflects Ballerini’s perspective following her breakup with Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes, with lyrics centered on moving forward, embracing independence, and turning difficult moments into new beginnings.
Marshmello shared in a statement that he enjoyed exploring a country-inspired sound and bringing his own style to the track’s production. He also praised Ballerini for trusting his creative direction, adding that they were both excited for listeners to experience the song.
Ballerini, 32, said she has been “a friend and a fan” of Marshmello for years and that they had been waiting for the right opportunity to work together. She explained that “Another Drink” arrived at the perfect moment, allowing them to blend their musical styles into a fun summer track that encourages people to celebrate and dance.
Before releasing “Another Drink,” Ballerini dropped her Mount Pleasant EP in November. Earlier this month, she also discussed how her move to New York City has influenced her creativity and inspired a new direction in her music.
After creating multiple albums and EPs in Nashville, Ballerini said changing her surroundings helped her discover a different creative perspective — a sound that represents her version of country music while living in the city.
