Kacey Musgraves didn’t hold back after an incident involving a fan at her Tampa concert.
On Saturday, Nov. 30, the 36-year-old country star called out a fan who seemed to grab her during her performance the previous night. In footage captured by fans, Musgraves shared with the audience at her Hollywood, Fla. show that she almost had to get “real East Texas” on the fan.
“Last night, this Tampa bitch,” she began, referring to the fan. “She kind of ruined it. She kind of ruined it for everybody. I thought I was going to have to get real East Texas on her, take off my earrings. Florida goes hard.”
In fan-captured video from Friday, it appeared a fan grabbed Kacey Musgraves while she was walking through the crowd. The “Rainbow” singer immediately stopped singing and could be seen saying, “What the f—?” She then added, “Jesus f—ing Christ,” into the microphone, according to footage shared on TikTok.
Representatives for Musgraves have not yet responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
This incident is part of a troubling trend where artists have faced inappropriate fan behavior. Many stars have spoken out about being hit by objects thrown at them during performances. Bebe Rexha was seriously injured in New York City when a fan threw a cell phone at her, while Harry Styles was struck by objects multiple times during his European tour last summer.
Just last week, Zach Bryan had to stop his concert in Tacoma, Washington, after an unidentified object was thrown at him and a guitarist, according to footage from Country Central. After retrieving the item, Bryan gave a sharp look in the direction it came from before addressing the crowd.
“Who threw this? Who was it?” Bryan, 28, asked while holding up the object. “Does anyone know?”
He paused for a moment, waiting to see if anyone would admit to it or point the culprit out. When no one did, Bryan issued a firm warning.
“Don’t throw s— at concerts, huh?” he said.
Musgraves is currently on her Deeper Well tour, which will conclude for the year on Dec. 7 in Nashville. The tour will resume on Feb. 28 in Tempe, Ariz.
