Carly Pearce Rushed to Hospital After Freak Accident with Broken Ranch Bottle Leaves Her Needing Stitches

The country singer made an unexpected trip to the hospital following her performance in Holmdel, N.J., on Friday, Aug. 8.
Carly Pearce’s post-show meal unexpectedly turned into a trip to the emergency room.
The 35-year-old country singer shared on TikTok Saturday, Aug. 9, that she ended up needing hospital care the night before, after an unusual accident with a glass bottle.
“Get ready with me… with one hand,” she joked at the start of the clip while applying her makeup.
Pearce explained that after performing in Holmdel, N.J., on Friday, Aug. 8, she was about to enjoy some food when she opened a bottle of ranch dressing. The top of the glass container broke off, and a shard sliced her thumb.
“At first I didn’t think it was a big deal,” she recalled. “Then suddenly I thought ketchup was running down my hand — but nope, it was blood.”
With paramedics already present at the venue, Pearce had the cut examined. They quickly determined the wound was deep enough to need stitches, and she was sent to the hospital.
“What I didn’t realize was I’d be taking an ambulance there,” she said with a laugh, explaining that policy required her to lie on a stretcher and be strapped in for the ride.
Once at the ER, an X-ray confirmed no glass remained in her thumb. After enduring “a very painful” numbing process, doctors stitched up the cut, which sat right along the crease of her thumb.
Now, Pearce is adjusting to life with an injured dominant hand — including learning new ways to do her makeup and hold a microphone on stage. She joked that her assistant nearly had to help shave her left armpit and that she might even decorate her bandage for her upcoming shows.
“Thankfully, it wasn’t worse, and I’ll be fine in about a week,” she said. “But it’s definitely interesting trying to do normal things — like pulling your pants up after you pee.”
She ended with a playful warning: “Be careful when opening things, and don’t go — as my mom says I do — ‘like a bull in a china shop.’”
