Carly Pearce Reflects on a New Phase of Life and Rediscovering Herself Through Honest Woman

By Website Content Manager

“I had to reconnect with my original purpose and remember why I chose this path, and I believe this album helped me rediscover that.”

Carly Pearce is entering a new era with her upcoming fifth studio album, Honest Woman, a project that represents a journey of self-discovery and a renewed love for country music.

The 16-track album, arriving August 28 through BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, marks Pearce’s first release with her new label team and follows a period of major changes behind the scenes in her career.

During a recent conversation at her Nashville label headquarters, the GRAMMY-winning artist discussed feeling confident about the direction she is heading, her new songs including “She Don’t” and “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay,” her collaboration with Riley Green, and how the album helped her reconnect with the passion that originally led her to country music.

Over the past few months, Pearce has experienced several career changes. In March, she became the first artist signed to Borchetta Entertainment Group, founded by Scott Borchetta. Not long after, she announced her partnership with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, marking another major step forward.

Reflecting on the transition, Pearce said that many of the changes happened privately and that she believes everything has placed her exactly where she is meant to be. She shared that while the process was unexpected, she feels grateful to now have a team that understands her vision, supports her goals, and is committed to her music.

With this new chapter underway, Pearce says Honest Woman captures who she is at this stage of her life. Fans have already heard previews of the album through songs such as “Dream Come True,” the bold “Church Girl,” “You Can Have Him,” and the successful single with Riley Green, “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay.”

Known for her appreciation of traditional country sounds and especially the music of the 1990s, Pearce said she has always loved male-female duets because of the way two perspectives can come together to create something timeless.

She recalled being excited when Green agreed to join her on the song and said hearing his vocals for the first time confirmed that their voices worked naturally together. Pearce explained that the chemistry between two singers is what makes a great duet special, comparing it to finding the perfect harmony.

Pearce recently released another track from the album, “She Don’t,” which carries strong influences from 1990s country music. The song follows the story of a young woman whose ambitions extend beyond the expectations of her hometown and her journey toward choosing her own path.

Although Pearce did not write the song herself, she said she immediately connected with its message. Coming from a small town in Kentucky, she related to the feeling of wanting more and refusing to be limited by where she came from.

She explained that the song reminds her of her younger self — the teenager who left Kentucky at 16 to pursue music, first performing at Dollywood before eventually moving to Nashville. For Pearce, the track serves as both a tribute to the women who inspired her and a celebration of the fearless young artist she once was.
