Paisley gave a fresh twist to the saying, “What happens in Vegas…”

Brad Paisley Puts a Country Spin on Sir Mix-a-Lot’s ‘Baby Got Back’ During Las Vegas Residency

Brad Paisley recently wrapped up two more performances in Las Vegas as part of his One Man Six Strings residency at the Wynn, where he keeps his acoustic shows loose and interactive. Rather than sticking to a strict setlist, Paisley lets the audience guide what he plays—a strategy that led to a hilariously unexpected moment.

During one show, fans got creative with their requests, and Paisley’s reaction was priceless when someone asked him to perform Sir Mix-a-Lot’s iconic 1992 hit “Baby Got Back.”

“This is getting out of hand,” Paisley joked, though he agreed to perform the song. He quickly had a backstage team member pull up the lyrics and, before strumming his guitar, mused aloud, “How would Johnny Cash do ‘Baby Got Back’?”

Prefacing the performance with, “These are not my words,” Paisley delivered a country-style rendition of the track, celebrating women’s curves with his signature humor and storytelling. The crowd roared with laughter and applause, clearly enjoying the unexpected twist.

“That’s the way they shoulda cut that song,” he quipped at the end, earning cheers from fans. In the caption accompanying the video, Paisley summed it up: “What happens in Vegas…This is what – when you let the audience decide what you’re gonna sing next.”

On a recent Amazon Music Country Heat Weekly podcast, Paisley reflected on the joy of these spontaneous moments. “I was in the middle of playing one of my songs and somebody yelled, ‘She’s in Love With The Boy,’ Trisha Yearwood.’ And I was like, ‘okay.’ Did whole song, didn’t even need the lyric…And that’s fun to me,” he said. “I was like, ‘you’re serious?’ They’re like, ‘yes, I’d love to hear you do that.’ And I’m like, alright, here we go.”

This weekend marked his final Las Vegas performances for now, but Paisley still has plenty of shows ahead, including a Canadian tour to close out the year.

Outside of music, he and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley have been busy with their free-referral grocery initiative, The Store. The project recently hosted its third annual Toy Store, presented by Sam’s Club, which provided Christmas gifts for over 1,000 children with help from 600 volunteers and thousands of donated toys from across the U.S.

Since opening in March 2020, The Store has been so successful that a second location is planned to open in January 2026 at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, expanding its mission of giving back to the community.
