Beyoncé Debuts Golden Mechanical Horse During “Cowboy Carter” Tour Stop in Atlanta
The carriages may have rolled on, but Beyoncé’s golden horse has galloped into the spotlight—and it might just be sticking around.
At her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta on Thursday, July 10, the 43-year-old superstar introduced a dazzling new set piece: a mechanical gold horse suspended above the crowd during her heartfelt performance of “16 CARRIAGES.”
Concertgoers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium captured footage of the dramatic moment, as the 35-time Grammy winner soared above the audience on the glittering steed. One TikTok user captioned their video of the performance, “SHE LOVE US BAD!” while another fan excitedly commented, “Oh we get a horse—we’re spoiled. I can’t wait for Night 3 and Night 4!”
Some fans also noted subtle nods to Beyoncé’s Houston roots, with one pointing out the horse’s spike-rimmed wheels and writing, “Reppin’ Houston with swangas on its sides.”
This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has included a statement-making horse in her tour production. She rode a silver horse during her 2023 Renaissance Tour, a visual directly inspired by that album’s cover. She also appears atop a horse on the cover of Cowboy Carter, continuing the motif.
Earlier in the Cowboy Carter tour, Beyoncé’s performance of “16 CARRIAGES” featured her singing from a red, vintage-style convertible that was lifted above the crowd. However, during the Houston show on June 28, the stage prop malfunctioned, causing the car to tilt mid-air and leaving the singer hanging at an awkward angle.
The incident was captured in a TikTok video shared that same night. In the clip, Beyoncé is seen sitting atop the red car as it begins to tip sharply while suspended. She appeared to be secured with a harness and gripped one of the support cables as the car tilted.
“Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop,” she calmly said into the microphone as the music came to a halt. Suspended above the stage, Beyoncé glanced down, then up, and eventually flashed a smile to reassure the cheering audience despite the unexpected moment.
