By Website Content Manager

The “Songs of Faith” episode—set to air on April 20—will include performances by CeCe Winans, Roman Collins, and The Brown Four.

No plans for Easter Sunday? American Idol has something special in store.

The show is set to air a three-hour “Songs of Faith” episode on April 20, delivering an evening of inspiring performances.

Grammy winner CeCe Winans will be joined by Idol alums Roman Collins, Jelly Roll, Brandon Lake, and The Brown Four. Plus, judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan will each perform during the special event.

Along with guest performances, the top 20 American Idol contestants will each take the stage to sing songs inspired by faith.

Before that, Idol continues with Hollywood Week on Sunday, April 6, where the judges will make their next round of cuts. The following night, April 7, will kick off the brand-new “Head-to-Head” round.

Season 23 marks a full-circle moment for Carrie Underwood, 42, who returns to the show that launched her career. The Before He Cheats singer, who won Season 4 two decades ago, now makes history as the first former contestant to join the judging panel.

“As a former Idol and a powerhouse in the music world, she offers a truly unique perspective to one of TV’s most beloved shows,” said Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, in a statement. “Welcome home, Carrie.”

This season also introduces American Idol’s first-ever “Artist in Residence”—Jelly Roll. He’s set to make his debut in that role on April 7.

In a YouTube video announcing the news, Jelly Roll and host Ryan Seacrest shared their enthusiasm. Seacrest even told the country star he’s “shaping America’s future.”

“I feel like I’m bringing the energy they need—lifting them up and getting them going,” said the Save Me singer, 40.
